Farmers in Resilient Engagement for Wildfire Sustainability and Education

The devastating fires in Evros have highlighted the urgent need for collective action against climate change and strengthening community resilience to natural disasters. The need for effective response has become more pressing than ever.

The FIREWISE project aims to support the fire protection of the Thrace community, marking the beginning of experiential education for users of the agroforestry ecosystem. It educates farmers and livestock breeders in basic fire protection knowledge and inaugurates a new era of adult education, focusing on the community and the citizen.

FIREWISE seeks to:

Empower farmers with forest fire prevention skills.
Improve forest fire management through collaboration between farmers and authorities.
Increase community resilience
Ensure the sustainable transfer of knowledge among stakeholders, securing the long-term safety and preparedness of the community.
